Welcome to the Business of Art class blog!

This blog has been created in conjunction with the Fall 2009 "Business of Art" class in the Department of Photography & Imaging, Tisch School of the Arts at NYU. All registered students are encouraged engage in dialogue about our industry on this blog, to share news of upcoming events in New York City and beyond and to contribute links to articles, websites and blogs they find informative and inspiring.

ABOUT THE BUSINESS OF ART CLASS:
This course is designed to explore career options in the field and best prepare students for a life in the arts. We will address issues of presentation and professional concerns in showing or displaying creative work, as well as other dimensions in preparing work for a variety of professional situations. We will also examine the many and diverse professional opportunities that are available to artists and arts professionals today, gaining a broad understanding of the role of the visual arts in today’s cultural landscape.

We invite others to share their insights on careers in photography and the arts, and welcome news of opportunities for students.
